NTEU Monday Minute for the Week of June 29, 2015: July 1 All Bargaining Unit Meeting

On July 1st from 7:30 to 9:30 am, NTEU will host our quarterly All Bargaining Unit Meeting. The meeting will be held in the TWFN Exhibit Area. Several employees from NTEU’s National Office will be attending including Peyton Lawrimore, our Chapter 208 Field Representative, and Jennifer Harling, our Chief Negotiator for ongoing Collective Bargaining. Joining them will be Tim Hannapel, National Counsel, D.C. Field Office, NTEU.

This is an important meeting and we have a lot of information to cover. This opportunity to meet with our bargaining unit employees is one of the items that the agency proposed to delete from the Collective Bargaining Agreement. NTEU took a stand on this, expressing how important it is for NTEU to meet with the our bargaining unit employees to exchange information, and prevailed. But there are other articles that are on the table and management needs to know that our employees understand what is being proposed and have strong feelings about the direction that the agency takes. I am referring to Article 22, Awards, and Article 49, Reduction in Force. NTEU would love to talk with you and hear your questions, comments and concerns.

Proposed agenda for the meeting:

·         Meet and Greet

·         Introductions

·         Internal Union business

·         Collective Bargaining – Where we are

·         Project Aim 2020 – brief update, time permitting

·         Questions/Comments

·         Closing Remark

Please plan to attend and bring your colleagues. NTEU will provide coffee/juice/water and bagels/donuts/fruit. We hope to see you on July 1st ! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please send an email to or stop by the Union office located at O 1G22. Thank you.
