All BU meeting

NTEU Monday Minute for the week of April 27, 2015: All BU Meeting and Upcoming Collective Bargaining

NTEU is holding its quarterly All Bargaining Unit Meeting on Thursday, April 30, 2105 from 8:30 to 9:30, in the TWFN Auditorium. We will not be addressing any internal NTEU business focusing, instead on:

Ø Upcoming Collective Bargaining

Ø Project Aim

Ø Phased Retirement (Please see OCHCO webpage on Phased Retirement)

Ø RES Shared Work Space Pilot

Ø Transit Subsidy Reimbursement for 2014

On Friday, the agency sent NTEU the list of articles that the agency plans to open. These include the following:  Article 6, Hours of Work; Article 7, Telework (which will also incorporate Article 8, Special Circumstances); Article 11, Sick Leave; Article 12, Advanced Annual and Sick Leave; Article 15, Family Leave; Article 28, Overtime Assignments and Compensation; Article 35, Moves and Work Space Changes; Article 49, Reduction in Force (RIF); Article 52, Official Time; and Article 53, Union Access to NRC Facilities.

NTEU is opening the following Articles: Article 2, Employee Rights and Responsibilities; Article 6, Hours of Work; Article 7, Telework; Article 10, Annual Leave; Article 15, Family Leave; Article 20, Reassignments; Article 22, Performance Awards; Article 44, Disciplinary Actions; Article 45, Adverse Actions; Article 47, Arbitration Procedures; and Article 52, Official Time.

Jennifer Harling, NTEU’s lead negotiator for the upcoming Collective Bargaining which will begin May 4th, is attending to go over the articles NTEU is opening. Peyton Lawrimore, our NTEU Chapter 208 field representative, is also attending.

NTEU is providing a full breakfast which we will begin to serve prior to the start of the meeting.

You can allot the hour (8:30 to 9:30) to ZG0000 as provided under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. For any other time you take, before or after the meeting, you must use your own time.

NOTICE: The Union office located at O 1 G22, will be closed starting April 29th late afternoon and reopening on May 8th. NTEU will be operating out of our satellite office located at T 7 D2. You can still reach us at as well as by phone at 301-415-3600 and 301-415-3604. We will leave a note with contact information on the O 1 G22 door as well. NTEU has partnered with the agency to “demonstrate” a shared work space. After the office has been renovated, please stop by to see what you think (pros and cons) of a shared work space office.

In Case You Missed It: The Diversity Advisory Committee on Ageism (DACA) cordially invites you to celebrate Older Americans Month by attending its annual celebration luncheon on Thursday, May 28, 2015, from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m., in the TWFN auditorium. This year’s theme is “Getting into the Act and Aging Gracefully.” Ms. Jeanne Dougherty, Employee Assistance Program, will give the keynote message, “Caring for Yourself While Caring for Others.”
